Excel to HTML Table Converter
Select the cells in Excel or Google Sheets, copy them, and paste into the editor on the left. The HTML table code appears on the right, ready to copy.
How to use it
- 1
Copy the cells
Select the range in your spreadsheet and press Ctrl+C.
- 2
Paste into the editor
Click in the left panel and press Ctrl+V. The cells arrive as a table.
- 3
Clean and copy
Press "Clean All" to remove spreadsheet styling, then copy the <table> code.
What you get
A standard HTML table built from <table>, <tr> and <td> tags, with one row per spreadsheet row. After cleaning there are no fixed widths, fonts or colours, so the table takes on the style of your website.
Editing the table
Click in any cell on the left to change its text. To start from nothing, use the Insert Table button in the toolbar, choose the number of rows and columns, and type the values in.
Formulas and merged cells
Only the values shown in the cells are copied, not the formulas behind them. Merged cells are carried over as cells spanning several columns or rows, which is worth checking in the preview.
Questions
Does it work with Google Sheets and LibreOffice Calc?
Yes. Any spreadsheet program that copies cells as a table works the same way.
How do I make the first row a header?
In the HTML panel, change the <td> tags of the first row to <th>. Browsers and screen readers then treat that row as column headings.
Can I upload an .xlsx file?
Not directly. Open the file in your spreadsheet program and copy the cells you need.
