Google Docs to HTML Converter
Select everything in your Google Doc (Ctrl+A), copy it (Ctrl+C) and paste it into the editor on the left (Ctrl+V). The clean HTML appears on the right.
How to use it
- 1
Copy from Google Docs
Open the document, press Ctrl+A to select all, then Ctrl+C.
- 2
Paste into the editor
Click in the left panel and press Ctrl+V. Headings, lists, links and tables are converted as you paste.
- 3
Clean and export
Press "Clean All" to drop leftover attributes, then copy the HTML or download it.
Why not use the built-in export?
Google Docs can download a document as a web page, but the file wraps almost every phrase in a span with generated class names and includes a long stylesheet. It displays correctly on its own, yet it is awkward to paste into a website. Pasting into this editor gives you plain tags such as <h2>, <p>, <ul> and <strong> instead.
What carries over
Headings, bold, italic and underlined text, bulleted and numbered lists, links and tables. Comments, suggestions and page settings are not part of the copied content and are left out.
Images
Pictures copied from Google Docs point to temporary Google addresses that can stop working. Download the images from the document, upload them to your website and insert them there.
Questions
Does it work with a downloaded .docx from Google Docs?
Yes. In Google Docs choose File > Download > Microsoft Word (.docx) and open that file with the "Upload DOCX" button.
Do I need to connect my Google account?
No. The editor never accesses your Google Drive. It only receives what you paste.
Can I paste into WordPress afterwards?
Yes. Copy the HTML and paste it into a Custom HTML block or the code editor in WordPress.
